Level up your event marketing in 5 minutes
FIVE IN FIVE 🖐
Put the kettle on and take five minutes to read our top tips for making sure your event brand advocates are working for you….
1. BE CLEAR FROM THE OFF 📝
The most common mistake people make when working with partners and advocates is not having clear expectations laid out from the start. An informal agreement might seem fine initially but miscommunication can lead to disappointment. Be super clear with who you’re working with - if you want two tweets a week, tell them.
2. KEEP CHECKING IN 👋🏾
Great, you’ve outlined your plans and everyone’s on the same page! Even if your supporting partner seems savvy enough, it’s important to maintain regular contact with them. You need to be active in this working relationship so that a) they don’t forget about you and b) you’re on hand to give them help when they need it.
3. PREP THEM 🧰
Make sure your advocate has got everything they need in advance. From business cards to online links - you don’t want to be scrambling around for assets or correcting mistakes at the last minute (nothing makes our hearts break more than someone tagging the wrong brand!)
4. SPOT NEW OPPORTUNITIES 👀
A working partnership should be a natural, evolving relationship that flexes to new opportunities. If something comes up that you haven’t discussed, don’t dismiss it. Your partner might like the chance to talk about your brand in a different way. If you don’t ask, you don’t get!
5. SHOW THEM SOME LOVE ❤️
A ‘THANK YOU’ can go a really long way. Show your advocate you appreciate them and they’ll be 10 x more likely to go the extra mile!
