Tips for measuring KPIs across Hybrid Events
When you’re hosting a hybrid event it can feel like you’re hosting two completely separate events. 🤯
Both the in-person and virtual elements have their own set of logistics, with different requirements and resources. 🖥️
But one thing you need to stay on top of is measuring KPIs across these two areas. Not only will it give you a good understanding of the success of your event as a whole, you’ll be able to see which area is working best. 📈
So, how do you measure KPIs across these two totally different landscapes? Relax - it’s easier than you think.
Measuring virtual KPIs 📏
There are some simple ways to capture audience engagement online (e.g the number of people who’ve registered to attend virtually, who actually did attend, and those active during live sessions).
Metric software can useful data like how long people were online for, the number of questions asked, and statistics on virtual ‘reactions’ use (for example, raised hands and thumbs up icons).
Measure in-real-life KPIs 📈
Measure the same things, but in a slightly different way.
Registration vs attendance is easy, but you might need a little more legwork to capture audience engagement in-person. Unless you’ve got the budget for super high-tech audience tracking software, you’’ probably need someone on the ground noting questions asked and counting bums on seats.
Post-event data 📊
Measure website traffic and social media engagement following our event. Dig deeper to see where, and what devices, traffic was coming from.
Hosting an event in Hong Kong? Look out for an increase in visitors in this location, using mobile devices. Is most o your traffic coming from a desktop? Perhaps that’s a sign your online audience were more involved.
Combine and Compare📑
After your event, combine your findings to get a measure of success as a whole, and compare your data to see which element of your event worked best. You’ll be surprised by how much you can learn!
