7 Steps Towards Healther Event Environments

As we re-enter the world of live events, there are some easy changes we can make to ensure they’re just that little bit safer. Our tips below are just suggestions to consider implementing at your next event and by no means legal requirements (nope, we can’t keep up either!)

Things tend to change on a day-to-day basis though, so remember to check Government guidelines regularly.

1. STAY HOME IF YOU’RE SICK!
It seems obvious but ask anyone attending your event to give it a miss if they feel even slightly unwell. It’s just not worth the risk.

2. SENSIBLY SPACIOUS
If you can, try to give your event a feeling of more space. Consider a different style of venue or drop the capacity slightly. A lot of people might still feel apprehensive about being in close-quarters with others.

3. MASKS AT THE READY!

Even if people don’t technically need to wear masks anymore, it’s a good idea to have disposable masks to hand in case people have a change of heart.

4. INCLUDE SANITATION STATIONS
Again, not a requirement but if people see clear hand sanitising spots it will encourage them to use them as well as acting as a reminder that this post-lockdown world is still very much a work in progress.

5. EASY BREEZY
Hard not to remember this one in this heat… but keep your event as ventilated as possible. Open windows and doors are preferable to air-con when it comes to keeping bad germs at bay.

6. GO CASHLESS
We’re pretty much there anyway, right? Make sure you don’t need cash for things like lockers or cloakrooms, as well as purchases.

7. SHARING ISN’T ALWAYS CARING
Remember a few years ago when those VR headsets came out and we’d be passing them around and putting them on each other’s faces at massive events, without a care in the world? Feels kind of yucky now, doesn’t it? If you can, eliminate the need for cross-contamination entirely but if it’s an absolute must, make sure items are thoroughly cleaned between uses.
