Events to look out for in 2022
As 2022 rolls around the corner, we can’t wait to witness some seriously exciting global events. We’re keeping all of our fingers crossed for as much normality as possible, so people can safely spend time together, and travel more freely around the world.
So what’s happening in 2022? Unsurprisingly, absolutely loads. Here are some of they big dates for your diaries though:
1. CES 2022, January 2022
Otherwise known as ‘the biggest tech event in the world’. This is the showcase for digital innovation, super-savvy software, and computer wizardry that seems out-of-this-world now but will probably be totally normal by 2025. Clever bods have been busy behind the scenes during the pandemic, so we can’t wait to see what they’ve been working on. Extra points for being in Las Vegas.
2. Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee, February 2022
February 6th 2022 marks The Queen’s 70th year in service - making her the first British Monarch to reach such dizzy heights! Expect fanfare, occasion and elegance (as well as an extended bank holiday in June - nice!)
3. Glastonbury, June 2022
Oh how we’ve missed Glastonbury! Both 2020 and 2021 events were cancelled (Covid, obviously) so we can expect a mega music-filled bonanza in 2022. Diana Ross and Billie Eilish are already confirmed, and there are rumours circulating about Paul McCartney and a certain T-Swift too…. unmissable.
4. COP27, November 2022
With climate change very much still a global concern, we’re hoping to see some big actions at the Conference of the Parties 27. All we know so far is that it’s taking place in Egypt, but we can expect some significant outcomes.
5. FIFA World Cup, November - December 2022
Yep - you read that right. A World Cup… in NOVEMBER. The seasonal move’s been made because the tournament is being held in Qatar, and it would just be too hot to have it in summer. We for one, can’t wait for a Christmas footy fest!
