Our new year’s resolutions
2020 has reshaped how we do every aspect of our lives. From working in the office all hours to nights out with our colleagues (remember those?!) everything has flipped on its head and what we originally thought may be a few weeks has almost turned into a year.
Having worked in the events industry for 10 years and alongside so many brilliant, talented people - we felt it was time to bring all that knowledge together and so, after much planning and excitement unite was born. A fresh new approach to marketing and event services, our motto is simple - marketing and event solutions without the drama.
We’ve got big plans for 2021 and wanted to take some time to think about our new years resolutions, inspired by those we’ve worked alongside for such a long time.
Lead from the front. One thing we loved about working with the Financial Times is that they were always innovating. They wanted to be the ones to do something first and that was clear when they launched one of the biggest virtual gatherings The Global Boardroom which attracted 52k registrations in just 7 weeks.
Embrace new technology. There are so many new virtual platforms out there it’s hard to determine what might be the right one for your business. This year we’ve all had to navigate virtual platforms such Big Marker, Bizzabo or Hopin. Will we see any new trends in 2021 and will any new players emerge who promise to do everything the others can do and more?
Continue to upskill. Not sure how to do something? Find out. This last year, more than ever before has taught us that we can’t keep doing things in the same way we’ve always been doing it, we have to evolve and move with the industry.
Strive for virtual networking perfection. Has anyone cracked this yet? Speed networking, moderator led sessions, virtual ‘drinks’ (that we have to buy ourselves!) we all know it’s not the same as it was in person so how are different companies looking to crack this?
I’d love to hear what you think and what your New Year’s resolutions might be. If you have any comments please do get in touch or comment below.
Wishing everyone a happy and healthy New Year and all the best for 2021.
