Zoom Tips and Tricks
By now we’re all familiar with Zoom. How it works, what it’s good for and how to get through very, very long online meetings…
But there are still a few features Zoom offers that many people don’t know about. We asked our team what their favourite lesser-known Zoom tips and tricks are - here’s what we’ve come up with:
1. Beauty Filter
Ok, so this isn’t a practical tip as such, but it sure is handy if you’re caught on the hoof and need a helping hand to blur out the breadcrumbs around your mouth. It’s not a crazy Snapchat or TikTok level of filter, in fact, nobody will suspect you’ve even got it on. Perfect.
2. Record Your Meeting
Popular amongst students, this feature lets you record an entire Zoom meeting. Ideal if you want to make sure you’ve captured important notes or if you want to share any snippets on social at a later date.
3. Create Recurring Meetings
Hurrah! You don’t actually need to send out a new Zoom link for every meeting. Zoom lets you automatically schedule recurring meetings, with saved meeting settings, same attendees and same access info. Easy breezy.
4. Hide No-Screeners
If you’re part of a big meeting and your screen starts to look a little busy, this tip might help you out. You can actually hide all participants who have their screens off (you know, those little black boxes with names on?) It might help you focus on active participants more easily and feel less overwhelmed.
5. ALWAYS Mute Microphone
Simple but super helpful. It means you won’t ever have the fear of entering a meeting making a noise (and let’s face it, nobody wants all eyes on them when you’re already running late). Find it under ‘Audio Settings’.
6. Play Games
You’re familiar with the Whiteboard feature, right? Right. But have you ever thought about using it for fun? We find Hangman and Pictionary work particularly well.
