5 ways to make your event database work for you
The first thing to remember is the fact you have a database to work with is a brilliant start. Because here’s a group of people who’ve actively opted to hear from you (in line with the latest GDPR rules, of course) and want to know more about the brilliant event services you can offer.
So the last thing you want is for people to unsubscribe because they’re not getting the right kind of comms from you, right? Right.
Here’s how to make your database work:
⭐️ GOOD HOUSEKEEPING ⭐️
Collect as much info as you can, including first name and last name (a personalised email is a nice touch, and a name in a subject line is proven to increase open rates!) Tag your data correctly too - this is really important!
⭐️ SUPER SEGMENTATION ⭐️
Reach the right people. Spend some time segmenting your data so people are hearing about events that are relevant to them.
⭐️CREATIVE CONTENT⭐️
This is where your segmentation comes in: adapt your content accordingly. An audience of under-25s living in London will need to see a very different style of comms to rural retirees.
⭐️ANALYSE THIS ⭐️
Take a deep-dive into any results you get from your database. Who’s opened what? When did they open it? Do they need to receive a follow-up email or have they signed on the dotted line?
⭐️KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK⭐️
An effective events database isn’t something that can be solved once. It needs regular TLC and on-going performance analysis.
Your database is one of your most powerful tools, and with the right admin, content and planning, should only grow.
But that does mean you’re going to need to spend some time getting to grips with it.
