5 ways to maximise engagement on social

Let’s explore the ways you can maximise engagement and drive potential delegates to your event landing page (hurrah!)

1. Start a conversation

Engagement is so much more than likes and follows. You need to be talking WITH your audience, not just TO them. People love to discuss things they know about, so ask your followers for their top tips on a certain topic or ask them to share their favourite experiences.

2. Respond to comments

Make sure you respond to any comments or messages you get (the good, the bad, and the ugly). Someone’s reached out to you - so now’s your chance to convert them and get them directly to your event page. Be kind, super helpful, and give them all the info they need. (Bonus tip: ask them a further question if you can - it’s a great way to keep the conversation going!)

3. Mention your followers

You know that feeling you get when someone super special follows you? Maybe it’s one of your favourite brands, an industry associate you really admire, or someone you’d love to have speak at your event. Well, you’ve got about 24-hours to make the most of it. A simple ‘Thanks for the follow!’ in your stories works but you get extra points if you mention some of the great stuff they’re doing too!

4. Run surveys and polls

Social media polls are a super quick way to get people to engage with your brand. Make your questions relevant to your event and share your thoughts on the results. It shows you’re genuinely interested in what your followers think and creates more of a community feel to your social media page.

5. Keep it simple

In the digital world, you’ve got about 0.0001 of a second to get - and keep - someone’s attention. So if you want to get potential delegates to your event landing page, you need to make it as easy as possible for them. Include your landing page link in your bio, keep your URL simple (if you can) and ensure your website is fuss-free (remember, one miss-tap and you might lose them forever…)
