Tech to Expect at events in 2022

New year, new tech!

While the rest of the world eagerly awaits new phones, next-level beauty gadgets and vacuums that can actually CLIMB THE STAIRS of their own accord, we’ve got our heads firmly in the events arena.

With the mayhem of the last couple of years meaning most events took place in the virtual sphere, clever bods have been working behind the scenes to develop some pretty nifty gadgets to look out for this year.

Tell us what you think in the comments below!

1. All eyes on your audience

Very clever (but slightly creepy…) cameras that sit discreetly in and around your event stand to capture visitor movement and detect routes. Sort of like IRL heat-maps - you can see where your visitors came from, and what they do when they get to you. Yikes.

2. Savvy room scanners

Real-time location and session monitoring, feeding data directly to event organisers so they can

A: manage venue capacity (which we imagine will be very popular in a post-Covid world)

B: get insight into what people are engaging with. It’s all gone a bit Big Brother hasn’t it?

3. Touch-free check-in

Facial recognition is one-to-watch in the events world. Some events have dabbled with it in the past, but the demand for contactless-everything will see this tech develop quickly and become more accessible in the next year.

4. Easy event apps

It’s never been easier to get a bespoke app for your event! Get full-branded apps built quickly, and fairly cost-effectively too. You’ll be able to engage with your audience directly, share updates and publish content at the touch of a button, and impress your pals in the industry too.

5. Grub’s up!

Most of us are familiar with ordering food and drink on mobile by now, but these apps are evolving especially for the events’ world. Create custom menus, get live updates on stock levels, and analytics on attendees (so you know who’s ordering what!)
